The eight villages in the Belagavi district of Karnataka state that have been selected for the "Green Energy Corridor" project will each build a 110-kilovolt substation and a solar power generation project. This decision was approved at a meeting of the Karnataka Power Transmission and Distribution Corporation (KPTCL) on July 3rd.
The project details state that the implementation phase will be divided into two phases for construction. The total project budget is 10.36 billion rupees (approximately 119.8 million US dollars), covering 8 regions including Appachiwadi in Nippani and Pamaladinni in Gokak. The project aims to build a green energy corridor to support wind and solar power generation, and to alleviate the load pressure on existing substations. After the new substations are put into operation, they will significantly enhance the regional power supply capacity and meet the growing electricity demand.
