Dominican Republic: Acciona Energia has announced that the largest photovoltaic power station in Central America and the Caribbean, Cotoperi Solar (163MWp), has begun to supply renewable electricity to the power grid in the La Romana Province of the Dominican Republic. This project consists of three solar power plants. It will generate 286 GWh of clean energy annually, sufficient to meet the needs of 166,000 households, and will avoid over 210,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

This project has had a positive impact on the local economy and employment, directly and indirectly employing over 600 people during the construction period. Acciona Energia is the major shareholder, holding 51% of the shares. The remaining 49% is held by Cotosolar Holding, which includes JMMB Fondo de Energia Sostenible (FES), managed by JMMB Funds, Grupo Pais and other minority investors.

Cotoperi Solar is the second photovoltaic project completed by Acciona in this country, named Energia. This project was put into use in 2023 with the completion of Calabaza I (58MWp). The company is currently collaborating with Grupo Pais to build the Pedro Corto solar power plant (82.69 megawatts).
