We often receive many inquiries from customers about the difference between isolation transformers and ordinary transformers. Today, we will provide a detailed explanation to help everyone understand clearly.

Isolation transformers, known for their safety attributes in the industry, are being used in an increasingly wide range of applications due to their excellent product performance, and their production is growing rapidly. So, what exactly sets them apart from ordinary transformers?

In fact, isolation transformers and ordinary transformers operate on the same principle-both utilize the electromagnetic induction between coils. However, isolation transformers have a dual-winding structure, with the primary and secondary coils insulated from each other. They also offer harmonic interference resistance, and their input and output are completely isolated. As a result, isolation transformers are much safer to use compared to ordinary transformers.

Many company opt for the more expensive isolation transformers because they provide insulation between the primary and secondary coils. Ordinary transformers may be autotransformer, single winding design will make the cost is relatively low, the size is relatively small, but it can not resist harmonic interference.

Thus, the difference between the isolation transformer and the ordinary transformer is that the safety isolation, anti-harmonic price, volume and other aspects are different.
